you could define brick as being traditional or modern depending on what the concept of the space or area is like. I personally believe that combining a little bit of traditional, or as you would call it nowadays as -vintage chic with modern elements could create a fantastic balance, details or just warm up a certain area.
i also love to mix a space with two different element that would blend perfectly, mixing rough and soft, lines and curves, neutral space with splash of contrast colours here and there and such... they're all, again, depends on your imagination and idea, concept, space, style and your mood for a certain space or look...
i would love to have a small cosy space somewhere, where i could channel some brick wall element with soft furniture , curves, black and white frames and mix it up with soft turquoise for accessories...
